So....I am going to keep this one short and sweet! We don't have any major news yet, but we did hear from Quiver Full that we will most likely be on the waiting list to become active clients until January. When we heard this, we were at first rather disappointed, but the more we thought about it, we are thankful that God has chosen to give us more time as a family of three, more time to apply for grants, and more time to pray over our future child and his/her mom. It has been weighing on my heart knowing that our child will most likely be born with drugs in their system, and so I have been praying that his/her mom will be taking care of herself and the baby, and that she is feeling loved and supported. We want her to know how valued she is and we want to see her come to know Jesus. How cool is it to know that the child that will be coming to us will have the opportunity to learn about Jesus and to know how loved and valued they are, and that their birth mother loved them and chose life for them?
Within the next week or so, I will be writing another post detailing the classes we are going to be taking through Quiver Full and Lifetime Healing, which is a post-placement care network for birth parents. These classes were created by a birth mother and will cover so many areas such as birth mother trauma, addiction and incarceration with an open adoption, navigating hospital etiquette and transitioning into an open adoption, and many others. I am really excited that we will be able to take part in this and I can't wait to let you guys know more about what we are doing!
As always, we are so thankful for all of you who are continuing to keep is in your prayers as we navigate these new and at-times scary waters. If there are ways that we can be praying for you, we would love to be able to do so. Just drop us a message via the "Contact Us" link on our main page and we will get right back to you!
We are forever grateful,
Claire and Spencer
Are you feeling led to give or know someone who might like to hear more about adoption and our story? Please feel free to share this website or give via our FUNDRAISING PROGRESS page. We are also in the process of applying for any grants we fit the criteria for, so if you have a connection to adoption and know of any helpful grants we would love to get the names of the websites! We are trying to build our database so that we know which ones we qualify for and which ones we might not be the best fit for.
